Easy Way To Make Copies Of Wii Games With Your Burner

It's no mystery that the Nintendo Wii has been selling like mad - it's one hot system! With so many new users, we seem to be getting a good number of emails from people wondering if there is a way to copy Wii games. With this is mind, we decided to throw together a quick guide showing you how to do this.

There's a good chance that at some point in time you have used your CD burner to copy or burn a music CD. But as you probably know, you can't use the same burning program to make copies of video games.

How come?

Nintendo Wii games use a type of 'copyright protection' on them (as do all video games) which blocks your computer from being able to recognize or "make sense" of what is on the disc. Because your computer can't read the disc, it isn't able to know what it is supposed to be copying.

As you might have already guessed, there are software companies that have developed programs that can "knock-out" the protections that are used on Wii games (and other video games). Once you install the program your computer is suddenly able to "make sense" of the game discs.

One quick point - these programs can copy Xbox 360, PS3 and any other video games that are on discs. It's not only for making Wii game copies.

The software is incredibly easy to use once you install it and get the hang of it. First you insert your Wii game into your CD/DVD drive and let your computer make an "image" of it. Afterwards you put in a blank disc and the image is copy identically onto the disc.

It's a great feeling to be able to copy Xbox 360 and Wii games using your computer and your burner. This gives you a way to backup all of your existing games and make copies of any other Wii game you pick up. Enjoy!

Installing Your Wii System Is Simple

Now that you have secured your Nintendo Wii system, got it home without incident and into your house, this is what you should do. Follow these steps to set up your Nintendo Wii system:

First, remove the Wii from the box.

Second, remove the AV cable and the AC adapter.

Third, remove the stand plate, vertical stand, sensor bar and sensor-bar stand.

Fourth, remove the Nunchuk and Wii Remote.

Fifth, choose your location near the TV for your Wii and set it up vertically or horizontally.

Sixth, connect the AV cable and the AC adapter to the Wii.

Seventh, plug the AC adapter into a power outlet, then Connect the AV cable to the input on your TV. After that, connect the yellow cable to the video input and the red and white cables to the audio inputs.

Eighth, get out the remote control and put in the batteries.

Lastly, turn on your Wii.

Onscreen instructions will appear and you will be required to select your language, location, time of day, etc.

Steps in setting up your Wii Control:

The Wii Remotes do not automatically bond with you Wii console so you will have to tell it to do so. The remote controls that arrives with your console is prebonded, but any additional Wii Remotes you buy will have to be synchronized with your Wii in order to work smoothly with your console. To accomplish this, there are two ways; the Standard Mode and the One Time Mode.

The Standard Mode

Follows these steps to use the Standard Mode for connecting additional Wii Remotes to your Wii system permanently:

First, press the power button on your Wii console to turn it on.

Second, remove the cover for the batteries on the back of the Wii Remote.

Third, press the Sync button inside the cover.

Fourth, open the door located over the SD card slot and on the Wii console.

Fifth, press the Sync button inside that compartment.

If the LEDs on the remote stop blinking, your synchronization is complete.

The One Time Mode

The One Time Mode does just that and it allows your Wii Remote to work with a Wii other than the current synchronized remote. This is handy when you are at a friend's house and these are the steps:

First, press the Home button on the Wii Remote that is already synchronized with the Wii Remote that you intend to use.

Second, select the Wii Remote Settings option.

Third, select the Reconnect Option.

Fourth, simultaneously press 1 and 2 buttons on the remote that you want to sync to the Wii console.

If the lights stop blinking and your remote vibrates your remote has temporarily synchronized with that particular Wii console.
